The Russian youngster of Euronova topped the sheets again in Free Practice 2, closing the session ahead of Adrian Quaife-Hobbs with a 1’27”808, the quickest time of the day on the Californian track.

The Briton of SuperNova was again 2nd, less than one tenth adrift from the top spot and very satisfied with his session: “I’m really happy, the laptimes didn’t improve because the track was really hot today, but the speed in the corners was much quicker than this morning. We did the session on mediums and very used softs, so I expect my laptime to be much better in tomorrow’s qualifying”.

In a perfect copy of the morning standings, Daniel de Jong was again third posting a 1’28”806 that confirmed the competitiveness of the Manor MP Motorsport package. Sergio Campana was a good 4th with the Zele Racing Lola, ahead of Giancarlo Serenelli: “I really love this track – the Venezuelan driver said – I came here last week to test with an F3 car and I was quick straight out of the box. Turn 6, the downhill left-hander, is the one I like the most because you really have to fight with the car, mastering it is a great feeling”.

Giacomo Ricci was 6th despite some steering issues, and closed the session ahead of Pål Varhaug, Antonio Pizzonia and Kotaro Sakurai, again in the top ten as he already did in the morning.

Pippa Mann shaved 3” off the morning laptime and was 11th with a 1’30”694, ahead of Max Snegirev: “Now I feel much more at ease in the car”, she explained. “I’m still not where I want to be, but at least I am closer to my goal, I can see it. I’m improving session after session but the others are doing the same as they get to know the track”.

Mann was followed by Michele La Rosa, Francesco Dracone and Antonio Spavone. The Ombra Racing driver was slowed by some throttle issues and didn’t use new tyres at all, so he expects a big improvement from tomorrow’s qualifying session. Closing the pack was Giuseppe Cipriani, 15th with a 1’31”306.
